Job : Before You Let Go…

Written on Wednesday, November 12th, 2008 by: Athan

Are you bored of your current job and looking for ways to get out from the company?

There are about thousand of reasons that we can think of why we don’t like the current job we have anymore. You don’t like your superiors that are being too arrogant. You don’t like the job being too simple that you want another challenge. You don’t like the updates anymore to the products. It is very nose-bleeding for you to comprehend all of it. You don’t like your team mates that are too lazy for team cooperation on team statistics you need to achieve. Your best friend is now you beast friend after he got the girl of your dreams that discourages you to work. Someone in your team is boastful that you cannot ignore him anymore. You planned to punch him outside the office on a smoke break session. And, a lot more of these enumerated reasons that we can share.

We could have all the reasons in the world (Am I able to include your reason above?!) Well, if this maybe be true, what we are hoping to have is a brand new job. But, before you think of having a new one, you must weigh and think of some important things to do. There are a lot of questions you need to answer first to yourself. A lot of things to prepare when you pursue such decision.

Let me share to you some of the important things you need to have before surprising your team leader the next day with a clean and neat sheet of paper keyword “resignation”. I had done some of my advises to you. The other advises are just recent realization of what I experienced.

Get A Job You Love!

There are no other ways to succeed in your career, you must love your job! Don’t waste your time to land a job and just being there to be paid. You will never learn life and will never have self-growth.

See to it that you will have a sure job offer first before informing your current employer about your resignation. Though, sometimes it work for some rendering their resignation even they are not yet sure to where the wind blows them after. It encourages them to oblige themselves to look for a new one since they already resigned and will soon to be officially not connected with the company.

NBI Hits You!

National Bureau of Investigation Clearance commonly known in short term as NBI Clearance is a must when you land for a job. Cleared applicants are given the said clearance as it is one of the requirements of the company for pre-employment.

The status for some are “HIT”. This implies that you have someone with the same name. They will need to check more information about it. It may also imply that your name were include to a criminal record ( or could be that you really had commit such crime).

Others were ‘HIT’ because they still need clearance from their government scholarship programs. In this case, acquire the said clearance to the nearest office they have in your place.

Other cases, just listen to the advises that the NBI personnel will tell you that you need to do.

On the other hand, if you just need to renew your NBI Clearance, run to the nearest mall that offers the more speed process of renewing it than going to their office with those stupid fixers.

Be A Socially-Inclined Person

For sure, you should have the E1 pink form of the Social Security System (SSS), I assumed. Never lost it since it is a requirement needed if you don’t have the SSS ID yet. The E1 pink form bears your SSS number.

If you don’t have your SSS ID yet, this could be your time to have one. It is very important to have it. You can use it for any transaction that you will have that needs proof of identification.

It’s TIN and Not TEN

It’s less than ten days when your request for a TIN ID (I assumed that you already have this too. It a news job that you have right and not your first job that I am advising? whew!). Likewise, this is needed too as a proof of identification.

You will need it! This is needed to track the payments you have for the government for the non-sense stuffs that were just planned, written on papers, uttered through words but never into realization. Oops, sorry, seems I went politically at this juncture.

Don’t Cut, Copy and Paste!

Your old hair style does not fit for a new ID you’ll have in the company. Those are what you have in your solo pictures way back two years ago. Come on! Don’t use it! Better have the new you and go to the nearest photo shop to get a new 1×1 or 2×2 picture size.

Are You A Good Citizen Of Your Barangay?

Most of the other requirements starts with the need to have the Barangay Clearance. This is just easy to get. Go to your Barangay Hall and ask for the said clearance. This may take a day for it to be acquire or depends on the availability of the person who will sign it.

Transcript of Records

Mostly, employers will require TOR. If you don’t have this, get a copy of it at your school. There might be cases that you will need to comply other requirements before they will give you your Transcript of Records.

Certificate of Employment from Previous Employer

You can be given this after the official resignation day (last day). Note that you will need to have signatures of your clearance before Certificate of Employment is issued.

Medical Examination

It is best not to acquire a medical examination when you are not sure being given a job offer yet. It is best to have the medical examination when you are given the pre-employement requirements by the company. You will be more fortunate if they will provide the medical expenses as some of the company mostly do. Else, it will be at your expense.

These are some of the information that I can share to you for now. Did I missed things from my advises? You may share those through your comments.

It’s been a very pleasant experience viewing your site. However, there are some articles here that I found a bit troubling. But of course as we all know everyone can’t be satisfied.

Have A Great Day!!
